Hi, I just recently started reading my bible again, after a few years of nothing... I decided to pop on and check out freedom house TV, and a scripture popped into my head... not hearing God for so long, I pushed it aside thinking its just my brain playing tricks. Then when Brian got to the part about being "Violent" about your Freedom, I knew I had to share the word.
1 Corinthians 8:
Be careful, that the exercise of your freedom does not become a stumbling block to the weak.
Hey thanks for watching! Good verse. That's one of the reasons why Brian chatted about how we don't get judge each other in some of these areas. Because we don't really know what God is stirring in each other.
A couple of chapters later in 1 Cor 10 it says: " 23"Everything is permissible"—but not everything is beneficial. "Everything is permissible"—but not everything is constructive. Nobody should seek his own good, but the good of others. Eat anything sold in the meat market without raising questions of conscience, 26for, "The earth is the Lord's, and everything in it."
It's kinda cool because really when it comes to gray areas, we should have the freedom over it all (not letting any little thing become an idol/getting in the way between us and God) but then not flaunt that... even to the point of submitting it to the betterment of others.
